I'd just like to congratulate Todd here on the sterling job he did with the 2008 version of the 24 Hour Podcast. Unfortunately I couldn't be in my "studio" during the event. I was also working, helping out at a local Carols by Candlelight and (unlike Todd) I was also sleeping.

I listened when I could (it's not easy to listen to things like uStream when mobile) and even called in from my train. I hope the horn or the bell wasn't too loud for you, Todd! ;)

But apart from the few minutes that I was on the line (my next phone bill will tell me EXACTLY how long I was on!), the highlight for me was hanging around in the uStream chat towards the end of the broadcast. I enjoyed chatting with other members of the Ohana. I was going to go to bed about 3 hours before the end but the discussion was so good in both what was being said and what was being typed that I decided to hang around.

As a podcaster myself, one can not under-estimate or under-state Todd's efforts over that 24 hours. There was talking (some listeners to my show know that I can struggle with that task at times!). Plus there was the uStream and Talkshoe to deal with, the various recordings as well as chatting with the guests on the line and on the chats. If all that's not enough, there is video switching and the on screen graphics. That's a lot for one person to do even for an hour. Todd's managed to do it for 24 hours while trying to eat and drink and stay awake and take care of nature at the same time!

Massive kudos to Todd and I'm glad that the whole event appeared to run relatively smoothly from my end (at least)!
