The old cheap diesel was dirty like shit, that was why it was cheap. When they were forced to reduce the sulfur content, prices shot up. In addition to that, diesel is very similar to the oil you use for warming houses, and the price of that has risen too.
Re: Windows Vista Resistors

I find it telling that PC Gamer Podcast, who were big Vista advocates from the get go, officially retracted their endorsement some episodes ago. I'm not subscribed to the magazine, but I expect that I'd find the same retraction there.
They basically said that they thought Vista would improve, and deliver usable game performance. But they still find that you get a much higher frame rate on a comparable machine when running XP as compared to Vista, even when you leave DirectX 10 (Vista only) out of the picture.
I've seen Vista on four machines, but haven't had a long time exposure to one. My initial reactions on all but one of the machines have been "Wow, this is too dog gone slow". One machine was delivered with Vista Home Basic, integrated graphics card and one gig of memory - what a disaster. Two were reasonably capable, and the final one should've been a screamer, but wasn't, at least with Vista on it.
